VAT handling for platform fees

Austria
For Austrian companies, we apply Austrian VAT (USt) to our platform fee share.
Other EU countries with valid VAT ID
For EU companies outside Austria, reverse charge applies when a valid VAT ID is provided.
No valid VAT ID provided
If no valid VAT ID is provided, we charge VAT on our fee according to applicable tax rules.

Is Upfest free for users?

Yes! Upfest is completely free for users. You only pay the ticket price set by the event organizer.

Do users buy tickets inside Upfest?

Yes. Tickets are purchased directly on Upfest, available immediately after checkout, and sent by email right away. Logged-in users can also find them in the app.

How do refunds work?

Refunds are processed automatically when an event is cancelled by the host. We notify ticket holders and trigger the refund flow for eligible tickets.

What happens if an event is cancelled?

If an event is cancelled, ticket holders are informed right away and eligible tickets are refunded automatically.
